OUR STORY
BEN & SARAH
We don’t just create content. We tell human stories.

We’re Ben and Sarah, two creatives, partners in life and business, and the duo behind Dusk and Brown Media.
Our journey started in 2014, when we met during a film and TV course in Sydney — both of us from different parts of the world, both passionate about storytelling, visuals, and meaningful connection. What began as a shared love for cameras and creativity turned into a shared life… and eventually, a business rooted in purpose.
We’ve built this from the ground up — no safety nets, just belief in what we do and a deep respect for the people we create for.

We work with founders, agents, coaches, consultants, family-run businesses, and changemakers who care about what they do and how they show up. And we help them bring their message to life through intentional, story-driven content.

We’re not about high-pressure scripts or generic videos.
We’re about real people, real impact, and content that makes others feel like they know you before they’ve even met you.

Whether it’s a testimonial filmed in a client’s home, a behind-the-scenes brand shoot, or a docu-style profile piece — our work is about trust, authenticity, and connection.
We believe your story is your most valuable asset.
Let’s make it work for you.

MEET
SARAH
Founder | Storyteller | Heart Behind the Lens

Born and raised in India, I grew up in a family where success was defined by traditional roles — doctor, engineer, repeat. So naturally… I did the opposite.

I followed my curiosity into a degree (and later, a master’s) in media and communication, determined to tell real stories that matter.

At first, I dreamed of being a journalist chasing truth. But the newsroom didn’t quite match the idealism I held. So I pivoted into documentary films, lifestyle shows, and travel features. With every project, I discovered something deeper: my love for storytelling that connects people, reveals their humanity, and brings meaning to the everyday.

In 2014, I moved to Sydney to refine my craft and ended up meeting Ben on day one of film school. What started as creative collaboration became a life partnership, and now, a business built on everything we love: authenticity, creativity, and helping people show up in the world through visual storytelling.

Our different cultural roots and lived experiences have shaped how we see and more importantly, how we listen. Whether we’re filming a business owner sharing their “why” or capturing the energy behind a local movement, we always aim to tell stories that are real, emotive, and human-first.

Sydney has been home for over a decade now, a vibrant, multicultural city full of voices that deserve to be seen and heard. It’s an honour to do this work here.

Outside of shoots, I’m usually painting, cooking, or wandering through art galleries. I love photo walks that ground me in beauty, conversations that open up the soul, and content that stirs something real.

At Dusk and Brown Media, my role is part storyteller, part creative strategist, helping brands and businesses connect with their audience not through noise, but through meaning.

MEET
BEN
Filmmaker | Story Seeker | Tech Tinkerer
Hey, I’m Ben. Filmmaker, creative director, and co-founder of Dusk and Brown Media. I tell stories for a living, but really, I’m just following a lifelong obsession with understanding how things and people work.

I was raised on the north side of Chicago, raised by a powerhouse single mum who taught me how to work hard, stay grounded, and believe in possibility. I was the kid who pulled apart clocks and radios just to see how they ticked. That curiosity eventually led me to stories—the kind that reveal something real, human, and powerful.
In high school, I was deep into engineering, physics, and AutoCAD. But it wasn’t until a trip to Nigeria that I picked up a camera and started documenting life through a different lens. That was the spark. I taught myself Photoshop, video editing, animation, and design, and landed my first job at a marketing company. After soaking up every skill I could, I packed a bag and flew to Australia to study film.

That leap changed everything.

I made my first documentary about graffiti and the subcultures behind it. I explored visual storytelling, creative tech, and how to capture emotion in everyday moments. Somewhere in that process, I met Sarah, and we built a life and a business around doing what we love.

Now, through Dusk and Brown Media, I work with small business owners, creatives, and brands who want to tell their story in a way that feels grounded, original, and deeply human.

Whether I’m filming a client interview, a business in motion, or a behind-the-scenes shoot, I’m always looking for the real story. The one that connects, resonates, and moves people to act.

Outside of work, I’m still that curious kid at heart. I’m into tech, off-roading, camping, poetry, cars, and anything that lets me tinker or create.

But nothing fuels me more than capturing stories that matter and helping people be seen for who they really are.

Let’s build something meaningful.
